Approximate Weight: 70-75 (as of 2-1-18)

Has Lived With: Other dogs at the shelter

Currently Living at: DC area foster home

Meet handsome Monte! Monte is about 3 years old (as of 2-1-18), he is a German Shepherd mix with a single short coat, weighing in at about 70-75lbs and he can't wait to meet you!

Monte, though out of the crazy puppy stages, will still need PLENTY of exercise and cannot wait to learn with you in DC! He's dreaming of long walks and trips to the dog park in his future and would love to play with new toys, explore the neighborhood and even go to obedience classes to show off just how smart he is!  He already knows how to sit on command and takes treats very gently from your hand. He does need help with his manners. He's counting down the minutes until he can meet your friends, go on trips, and cuddle up with you on the couch after a long day. 

Monte is GREAT with other dogs, so he'd be a good addition to an existing pack or happy to soak up all the attention as an only dog. He hasn't yet met kids or cats - let us know if you have any and we can test him out!

Like most shelter dogs, Monte may need a refresher on house training. He is likely crate trained.
